The Only Postpartum Essentials You Actually Need

Hi mamas! This one is just for you! After you have your bundle of joy, you have to go through a little thing called postpartum. Parts of it can be really hard. Here are some postpartum essentials that can make that time a little more smooth.

Latest Post: My Top Baby Registry Must Haves

After having my first born, I had no idea what to expect. I knew that I would be in some sort of pain, but I had no idea how much or the right items to buy. Thankfully before I left the hospital, they really help you and give you a bunch of free items. So don’t stress too much about it!

I also did a bunch of research before having my first child. It really helped my anxiety when I saw what other people went through and what kind of products they used. For me, I had two completely different experiences when it came to my deliveries. The first one, the epidural was magical but my recovery was painful. My second delivery, the epidural did not do its job and my recovery was SO much easier. I didn’t have to use everything I used the first time around. It just depends on your recovery.

Here are my postpartum essentials I used after giving birth to my two girls! Feel free to read my latest post if you enjoyed!

Clothing

Corski Women’s Short Sleeve Sweatsuit Set

After giving birth, I really struggled to find clothes that I felt comfortable in again physically and mentally. I gained some weight after both pregnancies and I needed something that didn’t make me feel awful about myself. This sweatsuit set was perfect for me and I still use them now after my second baby. They are so comfy and super cute. The sweatsuits also come in many different colors so you can buy many of them!

Wirarpa Women’s High Waisted Cotton Underwear

I used this brand of underwear after both times I gave birth. They are so comfy and really hold everything in its place. It is also really nice that they are high waisted because your belly is still pretty large afterwards.

GXXGE 4Pack Nursing Bras

I used these while breastfeeding both my girls. They are super comfy and have easy to use clips for breastfeeding. I have tried many different brands and these were my favorite! I also pumped and used Medela Hands Free Pumping Bra. It makes pumping a million times better!

Ekouaer Nursing Nightgown

This is also something I wore a lot after coming home from the hospital. I had a hard recovery with my first baby and it was easiest to not wear pants. This gown also has buttons for breastfeeding. It is a must!

Hygiene

Frida Mom Upside Down Peri Bottle

You will get a peri bottle from the hospital but it can kinda be a pain in the butt to use. The Frida Mom Peri Bottle is awesome because the nozzle is at an angle. The bottle is able to be upside down and it’s so much easier to use.

Always Discreet, Incontinence and Postpartum Pads For Women

These were the pads I used after my deliveries. The hospital will supply you with a bunch of pads but when those run out this brand did the job. They aren’t as huge as the pads at the hospital also which is nice.

Pain Relief

Dermoplast Pain, Burn, and Itch Relief Spray

I did not have to use this much with my second baby but I used this all the time with my first. It gives you this cooling sensation and relieves pain.

Tucks Medicated Cooling Pads

These are the best things ever!! The hospital will supply these too but I used so many that I also had to buy some. They lay right on your pad and give you a nice cooling sensation. Highly recommended!

Frida Mom 2-in-1 Postpartum Absorbent Instant Ice Maxi Pad

You are very swollen after you give birth and the hospital will have you wear these huge and uncomfortable ice packs. The Frida Mom Ice Maxi Pad is great because it’s not as bulky, it’s an ice pack, and it’s absorbent. This may be just a preference but you should definitely try it out!

WishGarden Herbs ReBalance Postpartum Hormonal -All- Natural Herbal Supplement

This is something I didn’t need to use with my first baby but loved when I had my second. I didn’t realize postpartum contractions were a thing until I was told by a nurse at the hospital when I had my first baby. Thank goodness I didn’t have any cramps. After I had my second baby I got really bad postpartum contractions. I did some research and other moms recommended these drops. They really helped! If you are experiencing postpartum cramps check these out!

Nipple Care

Earth Mama Nipple Butter

This is the nipple butter I used while breastfeeding. I love this stuff it works beautifully. I have also used Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Cream. This stuff also works really well!

Lansinoh Nursing Pads

These are going to be a must while you’re breastfeeding. This is a very nice brand and what I used while breastfeeding.
